stuffedhorseIt stinks being sick, doesn’t it? When I was a kid, I would sometimes pray to pass for being ill. I didn’t want to be truly suffering from a stomachache or a high fever, but if I could convince my mother that I was “under the weather,” I could stay in bed and cut out paper dolls, draw in my “Great Moments in Ballet” coloring book, and snuggle with my panda bear and stuffed horse. What more could an 8-year-old want?

AnArtistsInsightHeaderCreate wonderful character in your next bear by adding these appliquéd paw pads. Take a look at the finished result. MezcomarsattacksThere is an old adage that some folks have faces that only a mother can love: in the world of plush pals, that hardly ever seemed the case … until Mezco hit the scene. The renegade toy company creates plush critters, action figures, dolls, and other novelties that incorporate some of the darker elements of life. If your personality is more inclined toward lollipops, sunshine, and strolls in the park, Mezco Toyz is not your company. It is much more tuned into furtive tiptoeing in graveyards, moonlight, and things that go Pop in the night.

money-pileThis weekend, I learned a little about my daughter, and a LOT about myself. It all began on Friday evening when we were gathered around our dinner table loudly discussing what we would do if we won the Mega Millions jackpot (it had climbed to over $600,000). I don’t play weekly, but every so often I can’t resist the siren call of fast, easy money — that is, if conjuring up six winning numbers from scratch counts as an easy task.

TBF-BannerIn December 2011, Pinterest made the top 10 social networks list at number 5, beating Google + and Linked in. Pinterest is an fairly new social network tool. The reason we are talking about Pinterest is that the main purpose is to share images. This is great for artists. We are visual and we need to be able to share images of our bears.
